50000m3 OSB Production Details

Strander

An OSB strander (also called a flaker) is a machine that cuts logs or wood blocks into thin, uniform strands (typically 3-6 inches long, 0.5-1 inch wide, and 0.015-0.035 inches thick). These strands are the primary raw material for Oriented Strand Board (OSB)

Rotary dryer

The OSB dryer removes moisture from wood strands before resin application, ensuring proper bonding and panel strength. Moisture content must be reduced from ~50% (green wood) to ~3-12% (dried strands) for optimal OSB production

Glue Blender

The OSB glue blender (or resin blender) is a critical machine that uniformly coats wood strands with adhesive (resin), wax, and additives before mat formation. Proper blending ensures strong bonding and high-quality OSB panels.

Slab laying /forming line

The OSB forming line is where resin-coated wood strands are layered into a continuous mat with cross-oriented alignment before pressing. This step is crucial for achieving the strength and dimensional stability of OSB panels.

Continuous Pre-press

The OSB continuous pre-press is a critical machine in OSB production that compresses the loose, layered mat before it enters the main hot press. This step improves mat stability, reduces thickness variations, and enhances panel quality.

Cooling frame
