Knife Ring Flaker

Knife-Ring Flaker is used for making Particleboard, OSB board and MDF panel,  It is a highly efficient wood processing equipment, mainly used to cut logs, small-diameter logs, wood offcuts, etc. into wood chips that meet the requirements of subsequent processes.

-Working Principle

Cutting method: The wood is cut by a high-speed rotating annular cutter head (equipped with multiple flying knives) to form thin sheet-like or strip-shaped wood chips.

Feeding method: Wood is fed into the cutting area through feeding rollers or conveyor belts, and can handle raw materials of different diameters (such as logs, branches, waste materials, etc.).

Discharge control: By adjusting the blade Angle, cutting speed and screen size, the length, thickness and uniformity of the wood chips can be controlled

√ Particle board

Wood chip requirements: Small and uniform wood shavings (0.2 to 0.8mm thick, 5 to 30mm long).

The function of the ring chipper: First, it is chipped into larger wood chips, and then further processed into fine wood shavings by a planer or hammer crusher

√ OSB (Oriented Strand Board)

Wood chip requirements: Long strip-shaped planers (Strands, usually 50 to 150mm in length, 5 to 30mm in width, and 0.3 to 0.7mm in thickness).

The function of the ring chipper: It directly cuts out long strip-shaped wood chips, ensuring the directionality of fibers and enhancing the mechanical strength of OSB

√ MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)

Wood chip requirements: Small and uniform wood chips (similar to particleboard, but need to be pulped by a hot grinding machine later).
