This MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) Production Line is a high-efficiency, energy-saving, and stable complete set of wood-based panel machinery, meticulously designed and manufactured by our company through the integration of advanced international technology and rich Chinese manufacturing experience. Using wood or non-wood plant fibers as raw materials, this production line continuously produces high-quality fiberboard with a density of 450-880 kg/m³ through processes such as refining, drying, gluing, forming, hot pressing, and sanding . Our equipment features a high return on investment, a high degree of automation, and superior final product quality. It is widely used in furniture manufacturing, building decoration, packaging materials, and flooring base materials. We offer one-stop "turnkey" services, from overall plant planning and equipment supply to installation, commissioning, and personnel training, tailored to our customers' specific raw material characteristics and capacity requirements (from 50m³/day to over 1000m³/day).
The MDF production line typically consists of the following core sections, each meticulously designed and manufactured to ensure the excellent performance of the final board.
Chipping & Preparation Section
Raw materials (logs, branches, processing residues, etc.) are conveyed by a belt conveyor into a drum chipper to be processed into qualified wood chips. The chips are then sent through screening equipment to remove impurities (dust, soil) to ensure uniform chip size. Qualified chips are stored in a chip silo to provide a stable material supply for the next section .
Main Equipment: Belt conveyors, Drum chipper, Chip screen, Chip silo, Metal detector, etc .
Fiber Preparation & Drying Section
After being washed and steamed for softening, the wood chips enter the Refiner (Defibrator), where they are separated into high-quality fibers under high temperature and pressure. Here, molten paraffin (waterproofing agent) is directly added to the refiner and mixed with the fibers. During fiber blowing, glue is precisely measured by the gluing system and sprayed into the blow line, achieving fiber gluing. The wet glue-coated fibers are then instantly dried in a drying duct by high-speed hot air. Finally, a cyclone separator collects the dry fibers and sends them to the dry fiber silo .
Main Equipment: Refiner, Paraffin melting system, Glue mixing & applying system, Fiber drying duct, Hot gas generator/Steam heating system, Cyclone separator.
Forming & Hot Pressing Section
The dry fibers are evenly distributed by an air conveying system onto a moving forming belt. Vacuum boxes and leveling rollers form a fluffy mat with uniform density. The mat is then conveyed through a continuous pre-press to remove air and increase compactness. It is then trimmed and cut to a specified length by longitudinal and cross-cut saws. Rejected mats are disintegrated by a recycling system. Qualified mats are loaded into the hot press by a loader. Under high temperature and pressure in the hot press, the adhesive in the mat cures, pressing it into rough boards of the required thickness and density. After pressing, the boards are unloaded by an unloader . (Note: Options include multi-opening hot presses or continuous presses. Continuous presses offer higher production efficiency and better thickness tolerance.)
Main Equipment: Forming machine & former, Pre-press, Mat conveying and sawing system, Metal detector, Loader, Hot press (Multi-opening/Continuous), Unloader.
Finishing & Sanding Section
The rough boards from the hot press are at a high temperature and need to be force-cooled by a star cooler. They are then stacked and conditioned to balance moisture content and relieve internal stress. After conditioning, the boards are sent through a sander (wide-belt sander) for thickness calibration and fine sanding to achieve precise thickness and a smooth surface. Finally, they are cut to final dimensions (e.g., 4x8 feet) by longitudinal and cross-cut saws, followed by inspection, grading, stacking, packaging, and warehousing .
Main Equipment: Star cooler, Stacker, Sander (Wide-belt sander), Intermediate roller conveyors, Panel sizing saw, Automatic inspection and grading line, Packaging system.
Electrical Control System
The entire line is centrally controlled by advanced PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and an industrial control computer. Through touch screens or computer terminals, operators can monitor the operational status of each section in real-time, adjust process parameters, record production data, and view fault alarms. The system is equipped with a network interface for remote diagnostics and maintenance .
