Veneer Peeling Complete Equipment is an efficient and integrated "turnkey" solution designed to automate and batch-process logs into high-quality dried veneer. The production line integrates core processes including log centering, peeling, veneer clipping, conveying, and stacking. Operated in sync by a central control system, it dramatically reduces manual intervention while significantly boosting production efficiency and veneer yield. Whether for a new factory setup or an existing line upgrade, this complete set provides customers with a stable, reliable, and high-return production solution.

Working Principle

The complete set follows a coherent and efficient physical processing and information control flow:

1.  Feeding & Centering: Log sections are fed via roller conveyors into a CNC Centering Machine. The optimal rotational axis is precisely calculated via laser or mechanical probes, and ends are drilled, laying the foundation for efficient and uniform peeling.

2.  Peeling: Centered logs are automatically conveyed and clamped into the Veneer Lathe (spindle or spindleless type chosen based on raw material and needs). Controlled by a CNC system, the log is rotated at high speed and peeled into a continuous veneer ribbon with precisely controlled thickness.

3.  Conveying & Clipping: The produced continuous veneer ribbon is transported at high speed via belt or roller conveyors to a Veneer Clipper. During conveyance, an optical detection system or manual inspection station identifies defects on the veneer surface. The system automatically triggers a cut when a defect reaches the clipping position, separating good veneer from defective sections.

4.  Sorting, Stacking & Drying: Clipped veneer sheets are sorted by preset length or quality grade via sorting devices or multiple stacking lines. Robotic arms or stackers pile the veneer into stacks, which are then transported by forklift or conveyor to Veneer Dryers for subsequent drying.

5.  Centralized Control: The entire process is coordinated by a Central Electrical Control System (PLC). Parameters can be set and monitored across the line via a Human-Machine Interface (HMI), enabling stable and synchronized flow operation.

In the veneer production process, the veneer lathe is the core processing stage, with its upstream and downstream equipment together forming a complete production line. Understanding how these machines work together is crucial for planning a production line or demonstrating professionalism to clients.

Debarker

       Function: Removes the outer bark from logs. Bark contains sand and grit, which can severely wear down the peeling knife. Furthermore, debarking is essential for subsequent accurate measurement and centering.

       Key Point: Types include ring debarkers and drum debarkers. Efficient debarking significantly reduces tooling costs and maintenance frequency.

Veneer Dryer

       Function: Reduces the moisture content of wet veneer from over 60% to a usable range of 8%-12%. Types include roller dryers and mesh belt dryers.

       Key Point: Drying uniformity and energy consumption are core metrics, directly affecting final veneer quality and production costs.

Knife Grinder

The basic principle of the electromagnetic knife grinder is as follows: The operator places the long blade to be sharpened (e.g., a peeler knife) onto the electromagnetic chuck worktable. Once powered, the blade is firmly held by magnetic force. Then, a high-speed rotating grinding wheel (the grinding head), driven by a motor, moves reciprocally along guide rails to perform precise grinding on the blade's edge. By adjusting the angle of the worktable (typically adjustable within a range of ±90°), the desired edge angles can be achieved.
