Production Overview
This High Bending Strength OSB Board Production Line is a state-of-the-art system specifically engineered to produce structural-grade Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with exceptional mechanical properties. Production Line Process
1. Selected Raw Material Processing: Debarked logs undergo metal detection and sorting to remove sections with metal or decay, ensuring feedstock quality.
2. High-Precision Strand Preparation: A low-wear, high-precision long-log strander produces superior, thin, long strands with exceptional consistency in length and thickness (ideal length-to-thickness ratio >3:1), forming the physical foundation for high strength.
3. Gentle & Precise Drying: A multi-stage temperature-controlled rotary dryer avoids excessive charring or stress damage to strands, uniformly reducing moisture content to a very low range of 2%-4%.
4. Strand Screening & Enhancement: Multi-stage air and mechanical screening precisely separates strands for surface and core layers. Surface strands may undergo optional enhanced resin impregnation for superior surface properties.
5. Oriented Blending & Forming: The core section. A multi-head (typically 3 or 5) high-precision mechanical or electrostatic orienting former ensures maximum longitudinal orientation of surface strands (orientation angle deviation <10°), with the core layer arranged transversely or randomly, creating an optimal "sandwich" structure. The blending system ensures uniform and efficient application of MDI or phenolic resin.
6. High-Pressure Forming & Curing: The formed mat enters a high-tonnage continuous press. Precisely controlled pressure (up to 6-8MPa) and temperature profiles (180-220°C) ensure deep resin curing and highly uniform board density distribution.
7. Post-Pressing & Stress Equalization: Pressed boards pass through a forced air cooling system and a conditioning chamber with controlled temperature and humidity to release internal stresses, significantly reducing warping and stabilizing mechanical properties.
8. Precision Cutting & Inspection: High-accuracy sawing systems trim boards to size. Each board is scanned by an online non-destructive inspection system (e.g., stress wave, X-ray) for internal defects and density profile, guaranteeing 100% compliance with high-strength standards before shipment.
Equipment Introduction
High-Precision Long-Log Strander: Core raw material processing equipment. Uses special alloy knives and a precise feed system to ensure highly consistent strand geometry (length, thickness, width), providing the perfect raw material for subsequent orientation and high strength.

Compared to standard lines, this press has greater tonnage, higher requirements for platen flatness and temperature uniformity, and is equipped with more precise hydraulic servo and thickness control systems to ensure uniform and sufficient pressure across the entire board area.
Enhanced Blending System: Utilizes a high-speed ring blender equipped with a high-precision glue dosing and atomizing spray system, ensuring each strand is coated with an optimal and uniform amount of adhesive (e.g., highly reactive MDI) for maximum bond strength.

Production Raw Materials
Main Wood Species: Poplar, Pine (Southern Pine, Radiata Pine), Fir, Eucalyptus and other fast-growing hardwoods and softwoods.
Raw Material Requirements: Recommended log small-end diameter ≥15cm, moisture content 40-60%, free from severe decay or large knots. Species with moderate density and long fibers are preferred.
Adhesives:
Primary Choice for High Strength: Polymeric MDI (Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate), formaldehyde-free, provides extremely high bond strength and water resistance.
Choice for Weather Resistance: Phenolic Resin (PF), excellent water and weather resistance, suitable for outdoor structural applications.
Additives: Wax emulsion (water repellent), release agents, etc.
